Can You Cut $11.54 from Your Weekly Expenses?
One of the best ways to save money is to cut out unnecessary items. Indeed, Blueprint for Financial Prosperity points out that you don’t need to wait for a presidential candidate to promise you a $600 economic stimulus check. You can save $600 every year if you cut $11.54 from your weekly expenses.
I like the idea of parsing it down a bit because it makes saving more money manageable. It is easier to say you’ll cut $11.54 from your week’s expenses than it is to try and find $46.16 for the month. If you want to get it down further, you would need to cut $1.65 per day. If you really think about it, you can probably find enough unneeded items — from subscriptions to expensive meats to that extra trip in your car — to save yourself $600 a year.
You can further grow your money through wise investments, making that $11.54 a week even more valuable.

That basically means two less beers a week, or one less lunch at work, or 2 fewer gallons of gas, or one less book from amazon.com. 11 bucks is easy!

Thanks for sharing, John! You are so right that if we just took a look at what we are spending our money on, we could easily find ways to cut out some of our expenses.

Miranda,
I just figured up my diet cokes, at 6 per day (undercount) they amount to $1.50 per day (at $6 per 24 pack). That’s $10.50 per week.
But, I can’t live without the caffeine. What else is there in life without caffeine?
