Housing Affordability Remains Problem for Some
Even with falling home prices, housing affordability remains an issue for some in the middle class. Inman News reports on housing affordability:
Workers in the five highest-growth occupations — including registered nurses, retail salespersons, customer service representatives, food preparation workers and office clerks — cannot afford to buy a typical home in most of the 201 metro areas studied, according to the Center for Housing Research.
It seems somewhat backward that the many providing the backbone of our society aren’t able to afford a home. Between stagnant wages, inflation, and home prices that are still much higher than they were 10 years ago (despite the recent slump), it’s no wonder that housing affordability is an issue.
Can you afford your home?
